Rosa Linda Roman

Rosa Linda Román is the Screenwriter and Executive Producer for "Rosa Peligrosa." (She vehemently denies any rumor that she chose the name "Rosa Peligrosa" so she could see her name in the credits AND on the title page!) She is also the author of the full-length Screenplay, "Miss Me?" which was recently named among the Top 5 in the New York International Latino Film Festival.

Rosa Linda comes from a large, tight-knit Puerto Rican (paternal) and German/Irish (maternal) family. One of five siblings, and some 100 first cousins, Rosa Linda considers herself fortunate to play a role, however small, in the positive representation of the Latino community both as an on-air television personality and as a screenwriter. Currently a Television Reporter and Fill-in Anchor at KSAZ, Fox 10 in Phoenix, Rosa Linda has been broadcasting all over the country for almost a decade. She got her start in radio and television at the University of Florida where she earned not only her Bachelors Degree in Telecommunication, but numerous awards as well. Rosa Linda won two Associated Press (AP) awards for Best Public Affairs Reporting, a Society of Professional Journalists' Mark of Excellence Award for her story on the plight of migrant farmworkers, and the prestigious William Randolph Hearst Award, among others. She also has a "Ductorate" Degree from Disney University!

Rosa Linda's career path has been varied and interesting (and full of learning experiences). After leaving the University of Florida, she landed at Tallahassee's WCTV, in the station's Valdosta, Georgia bureau. There she wore many hats, including reporter, photographer, live-shot coordinator and editor. Eventually, Rosa Linda turned in her camera and became a reporter and fill-in anchor at KVIA-7 in El Paso, Texas. While in El Paso, she had the unique experience of being a bilingual correspondent along the border, doing numerous stories in Juarez, Mexico. Her next move was a major market jump from El Paso to Tampa, Florida, where she worked as a General Assignment Reporter at WTVT - Fox 13. Eventually, Rosa Linda left the Sunshine State for the Land of Enchantment when she was recruited as the weekend morning anchor and reporter at KOAT in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Finally, Rosa Linda made her way to Phoenix, Arizona, her husband's home state. Since coming to Phoenix, Rosa Linda has rediscovered her longtime passion of writing and has become active in Arizona's screenwriting community.

On a personal note, Rosa Linda is very much in love with her husband, Nathan, even though he spends his days lately cutting up cadavers. (Don't get the wrong idea... he's a first-year med-student, not a psycho!) They split their time between Tucson and Phoenix. When she's not writing or reporting (ha!), Rosa Linda enjoys rock climbing, traveling, swimming, dining out (because she can't cook), and watching movies.

Rosa Linda wants to extend her deepest thanks to everyone who is giving of themselves to make "Rosa Peligrosa" the amazing success that she's always known it would be! Contact her at RosaLindaLWP+at+jgrub+dot+com.
